The comment of "... the New World order, where you will have nothing" is silly nonsense. I don't believe it at all.

Replacing God?
by punkofnice inwe seem to be if a more secular society here in the west, these days.
i'm speaking from the uk.. with the lack of belief in god/s, i'm wondering if all the seeming (note: i said seeming!
), deification of people like greta thunberg, george floyd and celebs amongst others, if people who have no real belief system, are filling the gap left by god with people?.

punkofnice, I guess you have not been watching the science documentary shows on PBS in which Greta is interviewing scientists about climate change and teaching the views that climate scientists are saying. But I have watched those science shows. See Climate Change - The Facts | PBS (see also Press Releases- PBS Reveals Surprising Truths About Climate Change in New Documentary CLIMATE CHANGE – THE FACTS (bbcstudiospressroom.com) ). There is also a three part show called Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World | PBS .

An Anti-Aging Pill ( Maybe)
by metatron invarious researchers a have been looking for an anti-aging pill based on the assumption that, if you can maintain a higher.
level of various endogenous anti-oxidants ( catalase, sod, etc), you could probably slow down the aging process.
even some skeptics.

BettyHumpter there is recent scientific evidence that it is possible to slow biological ageing and to even reverse biological ageing. See the articles located at the following.

metatron, I recently started taking a supplement containing 100 mg of Trans-Resveratrol per capsule. As you likely know, studies show that taking Trans-Resveratrol produces the same benefits as calorie restricted diet. I have high hopes regarding it. Months earlier I began taking other supplements with the hope of improving my health and reversing my ageing.

Hey metatron, do you still visit this website? I notice that 21 years you began posting new topics on this site about the exciting subject of anti-ageing. I would like now if you research and application of anti-ageing information has produced observable in your own body. I also am taking supplements with the hope of slowing down my ageing and hopefully even reversing my ageing. Yesterday I found an anti-aging scientific study was published in 2019. It sounds very impressive. See https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6755196/ .

Where it all went wrong for the WT - JF Rutherford
by LoveUniHateExams ini was thinking a bit about this the other day.
ct russell, from what i remember about him, kinda seemed like a genuine, nice(ish) guy, although he had a few eccentric but harmless ideas.. during the russell era jws (actually bible students) could still celebrate christmas, worship in other churches if there was no kingdom hall available, and accept blood transfusions.. then after russell died, along came rutherford - a major league a-hole, for sure.. rutherford had plenty of eccentric ideas but at least some of them weren't/aren't harmless.
some have been long forgotten about - jesus depicted without a beard, the plan to rename the names of the week because names such as thursday (thor's day) is pagan, the articles about the 'dangers' of aluminium, etc.. one key contribution of rutherford which does a lot of harm is no blood transfusions, even in life-threatening situations.. another is shunning, something which never occurred under russell, or at least was much milder.. rutherford has a lot to answer for, i reckon ....

Thanks vienne for the accurate information you provided pertaining to Russell.
Thanks slimboyfat for informing us of what the original purpose was for this website. At https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/users/5866/Simon I learn that the site was created in the year 2000. Interestingly, August (or possibly September) 2000 was very probably the month I last attended the Kingdom Hall (judging by the dates of issues of "Our Kingdom Ministry" I have), other than for the annual Memorial events (until probably the year 2007) and one to three other meeting days. Possibly I attended a few other meetings in the year 2001. The field service records I have say August 2000 was the last month I engaged in field service activity. (From January 2000 through August 2000 my monthly field service time ranged from zero hours to a maximum of one whole hour.) It very strongly looks like the last convention I attended was in the summer of the year 2006.

Where did Enoch go - God transferred him?
by Fisherman ingod did not take the lives of the wicked contemporaries of enoch, instead he took the life of enoch.
and that seems like a great injustice to deprive innocent enoch of life instead of killing the wicked.

Regarding the words stated at John 3:13 I don't know if Jesus ever said them. What I do know is that according the biblical book named According to John, Jesus said those words. But, the book might be wrong in attributing those words to Jesus. Even if Jesus actually said those words, note that according to the narrative of which John 3:13 is a part, Jesus had not yet died and not yet been resurrected. Notice that verse says Jesus (the pre-resurrection Jesus according to the narrative) says the Son of Man is the one who has ascended into heaven. How can one explain that if one believes that Jesus is the son of man? Does that mean that according to narrative Jesus claimed that Jesus ascended to heaven before Jesus died on Earth (perhaps even making trips to Earth prior to being conceived in the womb of Mary)? Some Christians think so, but it is not clear to me that the Bible teaches such. Even if it does teach such, the OT claims that angels from heaven came down to Earth and later returned to heaven. Are these biblical claims examples of the Bible contradicting itself?
A number of scholars say that the historical Jesus did not consider himself to be the son of man, but that later Christians (prior to the NT gospel account being written) came to believe Jesus was the son of man. Many current Christians believe that Jesus is the son of man and that he claimed to be the son of man, but they might be wrong in believing such.

Fisherman, in regards to my words about that which I called coincidences and about me being mystified by them, I meant I don't know what the cause is of such happening. Their cause is a mystery to me. Some people say everyone and everything is interconnected in the universe. I wonder if that is the explanation, but I don't know if it is. The incidences might not be really be coincidences, but if not what why do they happen?
